2023-2024 Athletic Placement Process (APP) Information

The Athletic Placement Process (APP) for evaluating students in grades 7 and 8, who wish to be considered for Varsity High School athletic competition this winter, should contact the Athletic Coordinators for Grand Avenue M.S., Ben Fisher (516) 992-1106 or for Merrick Avenue M.S, Pat Fallon (516) 992-1230.

Information regarding the Athletic Placement Process can be downloaded here. The "Physical Maturity Form" MUST be completed by a medical provider and can be downloaded here. All paperwork must be completed and submitted to the Athletic Director, Eric Caballero, located at Brookside School NO earlier than 30 calendar days prior to the start of the season. Passing this exam DOES NOT assure your child a place on a Varsity team, rather, it solely provides the opportunity to participate in the try-out process. Please note that a decision to compete at the Varsity level should not be taken lightly as the NYSPHSAA "Transfer Rule" becomes applicable once a student-athlete officially competes in an interscholastic athletic competition at this level.
