SATs, PSAT and ACT
ACT
The
ACT is an exam that assesses students' general educational development
and their ability to complete college-level work. Like the SAT, it is
universally accepted by colleges and universities for admissions
purposes. For most colleges, an SAT or ACT is required. For some
universities, the ACT can also replace SAT Subject Test requirements.
This exam contains of five sections: English, Math, Science, Reading and
Writing (a 30-minute essay). Writing is optional, but always register
for the exam with Writing. Colleges may look unfavorably at the ACT
without the Writing section.
