Register for the ACT

The ACT is an exam that assesses students' general educational development and their ability to complete college-level work.  Like the SAT, it is universally accepted by colleges and universities for admissions purposes.  For most colleges, an SAT or ACT is required. For some universities, the ACT can also replace SAT Subject Test requirements. This exam contains of five sections: English, Math, Science, Reading and Writing (a 30-minute essay).  Writing is optional, but always register for the exam with Writing. Colleges may look unfavorably at the ACT without the Writing section.

SAT Reasoning Test
This is a four and a half hour College Board exam that covers math, critical reading and writing ability which should be taken by every student who expects to attend a two or four year college. This test can be taken more than once. It is usually taken in the spring junior year and in the fall of senior year.

SAT Subject Tests
Consists of one-hour exams given in 14 different subject areas.  Students are advised to take only those exams  which are recommended/required by the colleges to which they plan to apply for admission. Although the SAT Subject Tests are given on the same day as the SAT Reasoning Test, they may not be taken on the same day.

*All students must have a valid photo ID, graphing calculator, pencils and their admission ticket in order to take these exams.
